ATLANTA, GA, March 11, 2021 – Miller Zell is excited to announce that Jenna Vigil of Colorado State University is the first-annual winner of the Miller Zell Innovation Scholarship.
The scholarship recognizes a student attending an accredited college, university or vocational school in the United States who is pursuing a degree in business, fashion merchandising, retail, banking, architecture or another related field.
Entrants were asked to write an essay providing their thoughts on how they might redesign branded environments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with an emphasis on health and safety.
“We enjoyed reviewing the thoughts of young people from across the country,” said Leigh Canavan, Miller Zell’s SVP, Marketing Strategy & Delivery. “Many of the entrants noted the adoption of technology to support the shopping experience and the importance of cleanliness. Ms. Vigil’s essay provided a unique perspective regarding the opportunity for designers and architects to work together to create spaces that are better for individual health through WELL Building Standards, biophilic elements and innovative floor plans. It shows that the leaders of tomorrow are ready to thrive post-COVID-19.”
Vigil, a member of the class of 2022, earned a $1,500 scholarship.
